New Year Update
As we enter 2009, I am reassured by the fact that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and for ever" (Heb 13:8).
Whilst the global economic climate continues to be in turmoil and many of the things that seemed so certain a few months ago are now in disarray, we can be sure that God's plans do not change and that he is in control of all our circumstances.
My prayer is that we continue to place our trust in the God who never changes and look to him for guidance for our Church and its future home.
At the end of 2008 the building fund stood at just under £3 Million and we are grateful to God for his tremendous provision and the generosity of his people. We are also continuing to look for a suitable, affordable site that can accommodate our needs.
Please pray that we will continue to be both patient and diligent in all our efforts and that God will make our paths straight before us.

Auction this weekend!
This Saturday evening we are holding an auction as to help raise funds for the building programme. There are lots of interesting items up for auction, so take a look at what's on offer by clicking on the events page.
The evening promises to be an enjoyable one, with live music and refreshments as well as the main auction event itself.
So ... if you fancy a holiday in one of a number of exotic locations, some sporting memorabilia, music or DIY lessons, a home cooked meal or a pampering for your cats ... please come along and support the event!
If you can't be there to enjoy the atmosphere, why not make a bid online? Details of how to do this can also be found on the events page.

New term, fresh challenge!
September is always a busy month for Cornerstone, with the end of the summer holiday and the start of the new academic year. This September is particularly significant as it also marks the beginning of our last full academic year at the Bluecoat School in Wollaton. The challenge now feels more real than ever and it is important that we re-focus our efforts on finding a site and raising the funds we need for a new centre for the Church.
At the recent Church weekend, I shared the current situation regarding the building fund and also some example locations that we have discussed recently. The challenge ahead feels more real than ever and the call to prayer is clear.
• There are significant decisions ahead of us ... we need to pray for our elders – for wisdom, patience, unity.
• We may all have differing opinions and aspirations ... we need to pray that we will submit our minds and wills to God
• This is a change that affects our whole Church family ... we need to pray for our unity, that we will bear with one another in love.
